The other day in Zurich, Switzerland, a blue-and-yellow tram with QR-codes and the address of the website, which contains information on how to help Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees, went on the routes. It is symbolic that this is a tram of the Tram 2000 series, the first batch of which, according to the implementation of the 2nd phase of the Zurich Trams for Vinnytsia project, our city was to receive at the end of this year.

The blue-and-yellow solidarity tram has been running in Zurich since mid-March. It is a reminder to passengers that the war of the Ukrainian people against the Russian occupiers continues in the heart of Europe. The car contains the call "We are helping Ukraine. We invite you to the salon", there is also a link to the site, which indicates how the people of Zurich can support Ukrainians. These include housing for refugees from Ukraine, volunteer assistance to war victims, and monetary donations.

Inside the salon there is also information on how to join this action, and there are QR-codes with appeals such as: "Do you want to act? You got on the right tram" or "We live in safety. Let's help those who are refugees."

The Solidarity Tram represents a series of Tram 2000 cars, the first batch of which was to arrive at Vinnytsia Transport Company at the end of this year as part of the 2nd phase of the Zurich Trams for Vinnytsia project. The relevant agreement between Switzerland and Vinnytsia was signed in December 2020.

"In mid-March, we had to go to Switzerland with the specialists of our Vinnytsia Transport Company Municipal Enterprise. After all, each series of trams has its differences. This applies to both Mirage and Karpfen and Tram 2000 cars. Our specialists had to learn how to diagnose Tram 2000 trams and learn how to troubleshoot, and the features of this series. But for obvious reasons, this trip is currently postponed," says Deputy Mayor Mykola Formaniuk. "We thank our Swiss partners for their support of Vinnytsia and Ukraine."
