Caring for Those Affected by War: Humanity For Freedom Foundation Signs Grant Agreements with Vinnytsia Organizations to Implement Social Projects

Vinnytsia continues to engage international partners in community development, particularly in the context of supporting vulnerable populations. On October 28, grant agreements were signed with Humanity For Freedom Foundation (HFF), which was attended by representatives of local and regional authorities, including Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov and Vinnytsia Regional Council Chairman Viacheslav Sokolovyi.

Grant agreements worth millions of hryvnias signed by Humanity For Freedom with various institutions and NGOs in the Vinnytsia region of Ukraine provide support to men, women and children whose physical and mental well-being is crucial to Ukraine's success. This includes providing conditions for physical rehabilitation, psychological recovery, and professional retraining.

“Ukraine's ability to defeat putin is not only about what happens on the battlefield, but just as important is its ability to care for soldiers and their families away from the front lines. HFF is honored to support these amazing organizations that are getting results and helping to ensure Ukraine's victory over putin's authoritarian evil,” said Dane Waters, President of Humanity for Freedom.

The main objective of the projects that will be implemented in Vinnytsia and Vinnytsia Region with the support of an international partner is to take care of those affected by the war.

According to Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov, the decision to start cooperation and focus on projects within Vinnytsia Region was made by Humanity For Freedom Foundation (HFF) at the invitation of Volodymyr Groisman, Prime Minister of Ukraine (2016-2019). The selection of grant recipients was carried out with the assistance and support of the Interregional Humanitarian Coordination Headquarters.

“Grant support for humanitarian projects by our partners is extremely important at a time when the main priority for everyone is to finance military needs. The Humanitarian Headquarters is grateful to HFF for implementing several charitable projects in Vinnytsia region. Our cooperation was made possible thanks to Volodymyr Groisman's international connections, and we hope that together we will be able to achieve good results,” he said.

Vyacheslav Sokolovyi, Chairman of Vinnytsia Regional Council, added that the first pool of projects places an important emphasis on reaching out to different communities in Vinnytsia Region:

“In particular, we are talking about purchasing medical and rehabilitation equipment for Bershad, Kryzhopil, and Kalynivka hospitals, as well as a military hospital in Nemyriv. This is a real support for our efforts to rehabilitate military personnel and take care of internally displaced persons,” added Viacheslav Sokolovyi, Chairman of Vinnytsia Regional Council.

The grants will be received by:

  • Vinnytsia Regional Development Agency - with a project to purchase critical rehabilitation and diagnostic equipment for three hospitals in the Bershad, Kalynivka, and Kryzhopil communities;
  • Strategy for the Revival of Ukraine Charitable Foundation - for the purchase of necessary medical equipment for the Nemyriv Military Hospital;
  • Coordination Center for Prisoners of War and Missing Persons NGO - with a project to support vocational training and driving lessons for wives of fallen and missing defenders, as well as English language courses for children from military families;
  • Flame of Hope NGO - for the “Goodness Workshop” creative space, which conducts art therapy and other important activities for children from families of internally displaced persons.

Equally important, HFF will continue to consider other grant opportunities throughout Ukraine. The foundation is ready to do everything it can to provide the support Ukraine needs to defeat russia.

“The world is on the brink of a new world war, and the only way to avoid this rapidly approaching reality is for the global community of democratic nations to agree that Ukraine must win,” Dane Waters summarized.
