Delegation from Taiwan Visits Vinnytsia to Establish Cooperation in Healthcare
25 April 2025, 09:40
'In March, during our working visit to Taiwan, we agreed to meet in Vinnytsia to exchange clinical and medical staff, study visits and possible joint projects to modernise the healthcare sector in our community. MacKay Memorial Hospital, with whom the guests came to Vinnytsia, is one of the most successful healthcare institutions in Taiwan. We definitely have something to learn, but we also have something to teach. Unfortunately, the war in Ukraine is shaping the new competencies of our doctors. It is this experience that has become interesting for our guests, how our doctors perform their daily duties in the face of war,‘ said Deputy Mayor Vladyslav Skalskyy.
In addition to the official meeting, the Taiwanese had the opportunity to visit one of Vinnytsia's municipal medical institutions - the emergency hospital. There, the guests were introduced to the emergency department, operating room, anaesthesiology and intensive care unit. They were shown the structural units and equipment, told about the patient route and approaches to organising the work and distribution of patients with emergency conditions.
'In addition to improving the professional competences of doctors in terms of protocols and organisation of medical care, mastering the latest treatment methods, we were also interested in healthcare management. After all, we know that this system works quite effectively at MacKay Memorial Hospital. We are always happy to communicate and exchange experience with our foreign colleagues. Such cooperation is beneficial for both parties,‘ said Director of the Healthcare Department Oleksandr Shysh.
