From Germany to Ukraine: Vinnytsia Hospital Receives Special Rehabilitation Equipment

"We have been in touch with Olia, as she wanted to buy something that would help our military directly. And this suspension system is really necessary equipment that will help our wounded defenders recover faster," says Deputy Mayor Halyna Yakubovych.
The woman has lived in the small town of Greven for the past 18 years. To buy special rehabilitation equipment, she and other concerned people organized a charity fair. During the event, they sang Ukrainian songs and treated visitors to Ukrainian national dishes. This is how they managed to raise funds for the Redcord Workstation III professional suspension therapy system.
"Vinnytsia is a partner city of Münster. My town of Greven is not far from Münster. And wherever you go, there is an active Ukrainian community that is always doing something. It was also important for us to unite the people who came to Germany," says Olga Stromberger. "We contacted the city authorities, in particular the deputy mayor, Halyna Yakubovych. We realized how we could help. We agreed that we would buy a rehabilitation simulator. And when we organized the charity fair, the Germans knew exactly what they were giving their money for."
Currently, almost 40 military and civilian patients are undergoing rehabilitation at this municipal medical facility. The specialized department was established more than a year ago, as they saw the need to increase the number of places where patients could receive the necessary medical care.
"The rehabilitation aspect is in great demand today. The department has 40 beds and has 38 patients this morning. Therefore, the rehabilitation department will continue to develop and be equipped with new effective devices and techniques to restore people's health," says Oleksandr Shysh, director of the city's health department.
Earlier, the partner city of Münster donated modern exercise equipment and other rehabilitation facilities to the rehabilitation department of the city hospital.
