‘International Partners Will Help Develop the Medical System of the City and Region,’ Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov on Signing an Agreement with the International Finance Corporation
23 April 2025, 10:46
‘This is one of the elements of a much larger process of complete rethinking of the healthcare system in the city, which was initiated by the Head of the Interregional Humanitarian Coordination Centre Volodymyr Groysman and is being implemented with the involvement of experts from the World Bank, Ernst & Young, the Ukrainian Healthcare Centre together with Vinnytsia city and regional councils,’ said Serhii Morhunov.
According to the mayor, the goal is to build a modern medical infrastructure in Vinnytsia, create an effective management system, attract the best specialists and international experience to provide better services for patients and the health of Vinnytsia residents.
The Health Department of Vinnytsia City Council notes that the signing of the agreement was an important milestone in the preparation of a public-private partnership for the implementation of the New Multidisciplinary Hospital in Vinnytsia project.
The project envisages the creation of a modern 400-bed medical facility that will combine the services of several existing city hospitals. The new facility will be built from scratch in accordance with the best international standards. The private partner will provide design, financing, construction, equipment and maintenance of the hospital.
The agreement with IFC will allow the city to benefit from PPP expertise and attract donor funding to prepare a feasibility study for the project.
The feasibility study will be developed in close cooperation with the World Bank team, which is already supporting the Ministry of Health of Ukraine through a number of national projects.
The implementation of this project will contribute to the transformation of the healthcare system in Vinnytsia, improve the quality of medical services, and become an example of effective involvement of private capital in the development of municipal infrastructure.
