On the occasion of the 375th anniversary of the signing of the Peace of Westphalia, choirs from three cities - Karlsruhe, Münster, and Vinnytsia - recorded Matisyahu's song "One Day" together. The main message of the composition is a reminder of the need for peace and unity in the modern world.

According to the organizers of the project, it was inspired by the Koolulam initiative, which allows people to feel part of a single musical group, regardless of vocal training or ability. It brings together people from different parts of the world, different backgrounds, cultures and religions. This time, the choice of participating cities was determined by the concept of Vinnytsia's partner cities, Münster and Karlsruhe. The main goal of the One Day joint project is to inform the world that the most important thing for humanity is a peaceful life.

Three choirs took part in the project: Facherchor Karlsruhe e. V., conducted by Peter Arestov; Chanson AG Münster, conducted by Jean-Claude Seferian; and Vinnytsia Academic City Chamber Choir named after V. Gazinskyi, conducted by Khrystyna Bedzir. The video clip for the composition features scenes with children of different ages who demonstrate their own understanding of peace and joy in the presence of those things that make them happy.

"On behalf of Vinnytsia Academic City Chamber Choir, we would like to thank the project organizers, the Citizens for Münster Foundation, for the financial support that made this project possible," says Maksym Filanchuk, director of Vinnytsia City Council's Department of Culture.

For reference:

The Peace of Westphalia, signed in Münster in 1648, ended the Thirty Years' War. It has a number of important positive aspects for the world. In particular, it created the basis for the further development of international relations and diplomacy.
