Rehabilitation and Post-war Recovery of Our Soldiers: Vinnytsia Deepens Cooperation with the American City of Boulder - Serhii Morhunov
21 February 2024, 16:24
Vinnytsia continues to expand its international cooperation with the American city of Boulder (Colorado). Yesterday, on February 20, Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov discussed further cooperation with his American colleague, Boulder Mayor Aaron Brockett, and Douglas Gardner, a veteran of the UN service and director of the Highland Institute in Colorado. He announced this on his Facebook page and Telegram channel.
According to Serhii Morhunov, the dialogue with American colleagues began last fall during Mr. Gardner's visit to Vinnytsia. It was with his support that the International Institute for the Study of Trauma was launched at Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University. The Institute is already training specialists to help Ukrainians cope with the psychological consequences of the war. According to him, deepening cooperation in this area is extremely important.
"In times of war, we are interested in the U.S. experience in rehabilitation and post-war recovery of our heroes and heroines. In these matters, we, as a country that has been at war for 10 years, can also share our practices and achievements with the Americans. I thank my colleagues for the productive meeting and their concern for the situation in Ukraine. We will continue to communicate to establish closer ties between our cities and institutions," said the head of the community.
