Serhii Morhunov: "Vinnytsia Received the OGP Local Innovation Awards"

The prestigious OGP Local Innovation Awards are given for innovation in open government development and transformation initiatives at the local level.

"We joined the Open Government Local Level program under the International Open Government Initiative only last year, however we have already developed an Action Plan for the implementation of the Initiative and submitted our project to an international competition," said Mayor Serhii Morhunov.

The idea of creating a network of Liaison Offices was noted by the OGP jury. The aim of this project is to integrate the adjacent territories by increasing the participation of residents in decision-making and building a sense of community.

In total, the competition considered 36 local initiatives from communities in Europe, America, Asia and Africa.

"The Open Government Initiative is a global network that brings together countries and cities that seek to develop open government. We are glad that Vinnytsia is recognized by the world community as a progressive community," said Mayor Serhii Morhunov.
