Serhii Morhunov: "We Plan to Sign a Twinning Agreement with the French City of Nancy in December"

The development of friendly relations in the international arena is now a contribution to the future of our community and the country as a whole. On November 24, Vinnytsia City Council approved a draft twinning agreement between the cities of Nancy (France) and Vinnytsia (Ukraine).
Cooperation with this French city began this summer and is developing dynamically, as both cities have a lot in common and are interested in exchanging experience in various fields and strengthening cooperation. Today, when the war is ongoing in our country, these ties are of particular importance.
In August, a delegation headed by the Mayor of Nancy, Mathieu Klein, paid a working visit to Vinnytsia. During the visit, the mayors signed a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing sister city relations and discussed further cooperation and possible exchange of experience. One of the key areas of interaction should be cooperation in the field of prosthetics and orthopedics. Recently, a delegation from Vinnytsia, headed by Deputy Mayor Halyna Yakubovych, paid a reciprocal visit to Nancy to explore common topics for mutual development and cooperation.
"This year, Nancy will be the second city with which we will sign a twinning agreement. Earlier, Vinnytsia established the same relations with the German city of Karlsruhe. In December, we intend to formalize our plans for further cooperation with the mayors of these two cities in a trilateral cooperation agreement," says Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov.
In the future, Vinnytsia and Nancy will work together to develop sustainable projects on topics identified by mutual agreement: participatory democracy, environmental transformation, healthcare, culture, education, sports, innovation, economy, and international solidarity. Great importance will also be attached to establishing contacts between city residents.
The twinning agreements between Nancy and Vinnytsia are a sign of true solidarity and mutual support in times of crisis and are intended to support the path to integration into the community of European states.
