International relations remain not just a symbol of peace and friendship, but also a concrete tool for support and interaction between nations. They facilitate the exchange of resources and knowledge, making it possible to strengthen each other in difficult circumstances, including the ongoing war in our country.
Nancy is a sister city of Karlsruhe, Germany, with which Vinnytsia signed a twinning agreement in April this year. Therefore, it was decided to sign an agreement on trilateral cooperation between the cities.
Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov emphasized that this is an important decision that aims to establish and strengthen friendly ties with successful European cities, which give us additional opportunities for development and support in European communities and diplomatic missions.
"The trilateral agreement between the cities of Germany, France and Ukraine is actually a new form of cooperation for us. Today, Karlsruhe and Nancy are very active in their intentions to cooperate in the areas we have identified. First and foremost, it is healthcare, education, culture, and business innovation. As well as what concerns the sustainable development of cities - the Green Deal, ecology, participatory approaches and many other areas," says Serhii Morhunov. "It is important that this cooperation is not only at the level of local governments, but also at the level of utilities, medical and educational institutions, and simply citizens of our cities, including businesses. These are good prospects, especially in the context of Ukraine's future membership in the European Union."
Yanna Chaikovska, Director of the Urban Development Institute, noted that both cities are reliable allies in strengthening European integration processes in our community.
"Trilateral cooperation between the cities of Karlsruhe-Nancy-Vinnytsia can help to solve issues related to humanitarian aid and expert support in the context of the russian-Ukrainian war. Such ties between municipalities can also be useful in sharing experiences in rehabilitation and recovery. After all, both European cities have many years of experience in prosthetics, and this is extremely important for us, especially today, when our defenders are returning from the front line and need appropriate treatment," emphasizes Yanna Chaikovska, director of the Urban Development Institute.
