For several days in a row, activists were collecting humanitarian aid for Ukrainians and forming a cargo to send to Vinnytsia.

In addition to humanitarian goods from foreign friends, the boxes also contained gifts for little Ukrainians. Elementary school students from the Panevėžys city community brought albums and drawing tools to their institutions. On the first page, the children began to draw an album, each drawing a picture on a Ukrainian theme. Now Ukrainian children can continue this album. To do this, Lithuanian students handed over all the necessary stationery for drawing. Thus, the residents of the sister city want to show the unity of the Lithuanian people with Ukraine.

Panevėžys' children made their own boxes in which they handed over the stationeries. They painted them in patriotic colors. These boxes will be kept in the Museum of Vinnytsia in memory of the support of the sister city at such a difficult time, and albums and tools for drawing will be donated to community schools.

We will remind, earlier the Lithuanian sister city gathered for Vinnytsia the financial help of 50 thousand euros which went on purchase of medicines and means of urgent need. Also, recently in Panevėžys, the city council decided to provide assistance to refugees from Ukraine for their better integration into society. Assistance concerns education, health, and settlements.

In addition, the Panevėžys city authorities have repeatedly met with refugees from Ukraine for consultations and assistance, and organized rallies in support of Ukrainians. There are also refugee assistance centers.
