Vinnytsia Rescuers Received a Fire Truck as a Gift from Sister City Karlsruhe - Serhii Morhunov

Vinnytsia rescuers received a modern fire truck as a gift from Karlsruhe. The mayor of the German city, Frank Mentrup, together with the head of the community, Serhii Morhunov, visited them with this pleasant mission.

The Vinnytsia Mayor thanked the German partners for their significant support. He noted: "Our rescuers confirm that we have received quite good equipment in excellent condition. We hope to continue cooperation in this area."

In turn, Frank Mentrup said that the vehicle had undergone a rather difficult transportation route, so he was pleased that it had been delivered undamaged.

"The transfer of the car is such a significant event, and we are supporting our partnership between the cities with concrete actions," said the Mayor of the twin city. "May it help you save people and property. We know the risks faced by the rescuers in today's military situation."

This is a Scania fire truck. It is fast and maneuverable. The vehicle will be on duty next week, said Ruslan Shevchuk, head of Vinnytsia Regional Department of the State Emergency Service.

"This is a very necessary equipment for us. I would like to thank you for your help," he said, addressing the Mayor of the German city. "I would also like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to the firefighters and rescuers of your city to come to Vinnytsia to share their experience."

"The advantage of this vehicle is that it is slightly lower than the ones we have in our unit. So we can use it more efficiently in private buildings," said Lieutenant Colonel Kostiantyn Mishchuk, head of the 3rd State Fire and Rescue Unit. "The tanker can hold more than 3 tons of water, and it has all the necessary firefighting equipment and rescue tools."

According to Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov, such equipment is indispensable in the fight against fire. "We are grateful to the community of Karlsruhe for their support!" he emphasized.

It should be noted that this is not the first aid our community has received from German partners since the beginning of the full-scale war. Thanks to the city of Karlsruhe, 10 mobile resilience centers were set up in Vinnytsia. These tents made it possible to organize conditions for people to feel more secure in winter during the crisis in the country's energy system. And now, another gift from the official sister city will be on guard for the safety of Vinnytsia residents.
