"This partnership is especially important in the context of the war in Ukraine. In addition, the twin cities can become our advisors on the path to European integration," Serhii Morhunov wrote on Facebook.

Nancy and Karlsruhe have been twin cities for almost 70 years. Vinnytsia became twinned with the German community in April of this year. And it was the mayor of Karlsruhe who helped establish trilateral cooperation. He recommended Vinnytsia to Nancy and vice versa, explained Serhii Morhunov.

"I am confident that together we have laid the foundation for a long and strong friendship and mutually beneficial partnership," concluded the mayor of Vinnytsia.

On December 9, Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov and Nancy Mayor Mathieu Klein signed a twinning agreement in France.
